Robert E. Rimmer, known as Bob, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 at the age of 89. A longtime resident of Rockford, Bob Rimmer was a proud veteran and member of the Signal Corps. He founded and owned Rimmer Brother’s Recycling and Truck Parts in 1960 in South Knoxville. Pouring his heart and soul into his work, he built a successful business and landmark in Vestal. While Bob was a no-nonsense negotiator, he was extremely caring and considerate to those around him. He never ceased to lend a hand to someone in need.
Bob valued his family above all and built a beautiful life and legacy in his 89 years on this earth. Bob is survived by brother, Raymond (Linda) Rimmer; son, Terry (Theresa) Rimmer; granddaughters, Nikita (Dennis) Weaver, Celsy Johnson, Gabriella Rimmer, Sierra Rimmer, and Adriana (Preston) Kerkstra; great grandchildren, July Johnson and Judah Kerkstra. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Rimmer; siblings, James Rimmer, Blanche Kenley, Roy Rimmer, and Agnes Kirby.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Bethel United Methodist Church at 2004 Amherst Road in Knoxville, Tennessee, 37921.
