

Rolfe Charles Chambers, age 93, passed away on June 28, 2016 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member at Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church. Mr. Chambers was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in England, France, Luxembourg and in Germany during WWII. Following the war, Mr. Chambers worked for Remington Rand for 25 years and then was an owner of Add-Rite Business Machines. After he retired, he liked to garden and was a volunteer at John T. O’Conner Senior Center. He enjoyed dining and traveling with many friends, especially his companion, Marge Gwinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jane Chambers; his wife Louise Snyder Chambers; sisters: Ruth Treadway, Rachel Perkinson, Ray Chambers, Reva Collins and Rosa Chambers; brothers, Reeldon, Rhadford and Rothales Chambers. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Janice Chambers of Knoxville; daughter Jane Ray Marcum of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren: Jenny Payne (Bryan), Elizabeth Harness (Justin), Justin Marcum (Jodi) and Katie Clark (Jason); along with eight great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 6-7 pm in the chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, with a service following at 7 pm, with Rev. Larry Dial, officiating. Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10:00 am in Berry Highland Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the gravesite by 9:45 for the service.
