Ronald Gary Wyrick, age 85, of knoxville, passed away at Summit View of Rocky Top after a long battle with cancer and vascular disease. Mr. Wyrick was of the Baptist faith. The unquestionable pride of Ron's life was his son, Brandon. Mr. Wyrick graduated from East High School in Knoxville and continued educational endeavors at the University of Tennessee where he worked on his Doctoral Degree in Management Science. He was employed for 30 years at Tennessee Valley Authority where he was a manager in Information Services at the time of his retirement in 1993. He was a member of a variety of social and sports organizations. He was also active in several volunteer activities. His greatest interest was being involved in activities where he associated with a variety of people with whom he established a great number of friendships.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Charles Wyrick and Vesta Hale Wyrick; brother Carlos Oswald Wyrick; and sisters, Lonette Wyrick and Barbara Wyrick Human.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Scott Wyrick (Cindel) of Knoxville; granddaughters, Hattie and Ellie Wyrick; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 8, 2024 for a visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 PM and a funeral service at 2:30PM in the Westwood Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. There will be a celebration of life "party" at a later date.
