Roy Edward Valentine

Valentine, Roy E. 87 of Knoxville, TN was called Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2017. He was a faithful member of Forest Grove Free Will Baptist Church for 60 years. He loved to work in his garden and spend time with family. Roy was retired from U.S.D.A. and was in the 361st Engineering Group in the Army. He was preceded in death by parents, Alex and Grace Valentine; brothers, Edgar, Fred and Richard Valentine; son, Darrell Valentine; great grandson, Jonathan Valentine; brothers-in-law, A.J. Newcomb, Robert King, Arthur Dodson, Carlisle Bales; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Valentine; nephews, Ronnie and Billy Newcomb, Terry Valentine, Danny Dodson. Roy is survived by loving wife of 62 years, Beckie Valentine; daughters, Karen (Hal) Holbert, Gail (Lynn) Hoskins; son Dwayne (Terry) Valentine; grandchildren, Joseph (Brandy) Hoskins, Sarah (Jesse) Blazier, Rene (Jim) Sinclair, Christina (Donnie) Cox, Rosanna Burkhart (Rick Owens), Rachel (Chad) McClure, Alex (Ashley) Valentine, Heather (Irish) Lingganay, Cory Valentine; great grandchildren, Cody, Abbie, Brody Blazier, Allie, Caroline, Emily McClure, Olivia, Shelby Burkhart, Jonah, Liston, Keenan Hoskins, Darrell Valentine, Riley and Gavin Sinclair, Courtney Strader, Caroline Cox, Alaina and Vincent Valentine; step great grandchildren, Jamie (Lindsey) Sinclair, Stephany (Taylor) Rathbun; brothers, Oscar Valentine, Bill (Barbara) Valentine; sisters, Estalee Newcomb, Bobbie King, Patsy (Homer) King; sisters-in-law, Linda Valentine, Betty Dodson, Beulah Bales; many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday, December 28th from 5-7pm with funeral service directly following at 7pm at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road. Rev. Earl Dunn Jr. officiating.
