Ruby Irene Johnson, age 96, of Seymour, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was a lifetime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Ruby enjoyed gardening and caring for her family and friends. She was a loving mother, mamaw and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by husband Mayford Johnson; parents William and Cordia Helton and 10 siblings.
Ruby is survived by children Gary Johnson and Mikey (Angela) Johnson; grandchildren Cassi (Toby) Sutton, Colby Johnson and Lauren Johnson; great-grandchildren Trentyn Johnson and Emlynn Sutton; sister Ruth (Clyde) Loposser and caregiver and friend Trish Blalock.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Ruby's memory to Shiloh Baptist Church Building fund, 1432 Shiloh Church Rd, Seymour, TN 37865. Family and friends will meet at Berry Highland South Cemetery in the Garden of Gospels on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:45am for an 11am Graveside Service, officiated by Clyde Loposser and Glenn Metts.
