Ruth Ann Horton Scarbrough

Scarbrough, Ruth Ann Horton, age 80, of Knoxville, passed away October 30, 2013 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was employed by the State of Tennessee in Food Services and a member of Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, John & Nora Horton; husband, Winfred E. Scarbrough; brothers, Rev. James Franklin Horton of Alabama, John William Horton of Knoxville; sisters, Louise Watson, Frances Moore, Betty Reed of Knoxville, Mildred Ward of Maryville, and Mary Beale of Georgia. Survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Buddy & Patty DeArmond and several nieces and nephews. Ann’s personal request was that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church General Fund, 7420 Clapps Chapel Road, Corryton, TN 37721-3734. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 AM Friday, November 1, 2013 at Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery for a 10:00 AM graveside service. Rev. Sam Johnson officiating.
