McCroskey, Samuel Clark, age 80, passed away Sunday morning at home after a lingering illness. He was retired from Knox County Highway Department. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel Walter and Bessie Clark McCroskey; brothers, Woody, Leon, Cotton, Bruce, and Troy McCroskey; sister, Eula Mae Sneed; daughter, Elaine Davis; granddaughter, Natalie Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Burkhart McCroskey; sons, Mike, Matthew, and Mark McCroskey; daughters, Sherry Nichols and Melissa Byrd; brothers, Dave (Yvonne) and Glenn McCroskey; sister, Josephine Turner; grandchildren, Timmy Davis, Jessica & Deanna McCroskey, Luke, Maddie, John & Case McCroskey, Cody, Zachary, and Jake Byrd, and infant due in July, Easton Clark McCroskey. He is survived by Nathan Cooper, whom he considered like a son. Family will receive friends at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home on March 10, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family will gather at 10:45 a.m. on March 11, 2015 at Asbury Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
