

Sandra Kaye Sterling, age 68 of Knoxville, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on March 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
For 38 years, Sandra was a cherished member of the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, where she worked in the Department of Surgery and the Department of Urology. Her presence brightened the workplace, and her kindness left a lasting impact on those she worked with.
A lifelong fan of University of Tennessee sports, Sandra cheered on the Vols with pride and enthusiasm. Some of her happiest moments were spent with family and friends, soaking in the excitement of game day, and making cherished memories before heading into Neyland Stadium.
Sandra was a proud and devoted grandmother who found pure joy in spending time with her granddaughters, showering them with love and creating cherished memories. She embraced her role as an aunt with warmth and affection, treasuring every moment with her nieces and nephews. As a loving sister, she shared an unbreakable bond with her brothers. Her aunts and cousins also held a very special place in her heart. Family was everything to Sandra, and she made sure each loved one felt valued, supported, and deeply cared for.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Opal Tallent, and her brothers, Ray and Ronnie Tallent. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Clarence “Choo” Sterling, who stood by her side through life’s journey with unwavering love.
Sandra’s kindness will be dearly missed but forever remembered. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as Sandra’s giving spirit would have wished.
Her love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
