Mickey, Barbara, Karen, Becky , Buck and family -
I am truly heartbroken for all of you. I’ve known the Buchanan family since before I even started school, as we were neighbors on Landmark Drive.
Karen & I (more Karen) cheered on our brother’s, Joel & Bucky when they were playing “pee-wee” football.
All us neighborhood kids played outside until after dark every day , yes that’s what kids USED to do. Our parents were good friends and shared carpool , coached football, played bridge together and looked out for each other’s kids and ALL the kids in the neighborhood - thanks Barbara!!

My family moved to Blount County when I was in elementary school, but came back to Knoxville when I started high school and that’s when I was blessed enough to meet Mickey & Ricky in high school and fell in love 💞with the Harvey family right off the bat. Mickey & I spent many nights at each others homes and went on several vacations together during our high school years - great memories!!! I’ll never forget our spring break trip when Mickey & I were juniors and Becky agreed to go as our chaperone - thank you sweet lady!!!

I was lucky enough to reunite with the Buchanan family after Mickey & Scott got married . Scott was such a sweetheart with a great sense of humor and could always make me smile. He always managed to cheer other people up if they were feeling down and would lend a helping hand in any way he could.

I honestly don’t have enough words to comfort these families, but please know that all my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I am so very sorry to hear this news. This is a tragic loss for every single person that has ever been fortunate enough to know Scott and have the honor to refer to him as a friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
RIP , my sweet friend.
All my love-
Lisa Simmons

Mickey, Becky and family:
I know we haven’t talked in many years but I just want you to know that I am so very sorry for the loss you all have endured in such a short time! I was so sorry to hear about Ricky and now to hear about Scott just makes my heart hurt for you all! I just want you to know that I am praying for you all and that I am sorry! Mickey- you were my beat friend in high school along with Leanna and I loved you then and I love you now! Time, kids, miles pull friends apart but that doesn’t mean that I don’t hurt for you today! May God bless you and comfort you all! Love, Kim Paxton (Sterchi)
