I met Scott at Carson Newman as we were teamates on the football team. I felt bleassed and honored to call him my firend.  It was quite evident back then that God had his hand on him and He would be using Scott in a special way.  Like Coach Sparks, he touched many lives for the Kingdom.

I send you my deepest condolences.  I remember when , Melissa, you and I would be serving together in children’s ministry and Scott would come in and sit on the floor to play with the kids. He was always making sure you all were good. He used to say thank you for being a friend to my sweet wife. Harry and I miss him so much. We love you and are here for you.

I remember when Northstar began out of a backyard. Scott did many amazing things at Northstar. He baptized me very shortly after Northstar was formed at the Cove in Concord when I was 8 years old. Been serving under Pastor Scott for 20+ years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I enjoyed hearing his sermons and his singing. What a powerful man of God he was. He would light up a room with his presence, his body screams Jesus. Scott was my spiritual mentor, looked up to him. He will be forever missed but I know I will see him again one day. My prayers go out to sweet Melissa his wife and children (Caleb and Erin). I cannot fathom the loss you are going through, but I know God will comfort you all in this difficult time. I love you all, stay strong in the faith and know you will see him again one day.

11 years ago I was a college intern in Nicaragua when Pastor Scott visited and I've yet to forget that week since. I can still easily picture him with a guitar singing "my life is not my own, to you I belong..I give myself for you Lord."  It's hard to forget the way he brought people together, the effortless way he led people into worship, and the incredibly intentional way he spoke life over people. He truly made you want to know Jesus more and I've carried the verse he spoke over my life as a young adult for a decade after. I will be keeping the incredibly kind Cagle family in my prayers.

Scott was an amazing man and pastor.  My husband, Larry, and I were fortunate to meet Scott through our late good friend, Randy Gaston.  While we are and were members of another church, Randy enjoyed our coming to hear him sing at Calvary.  Through those visits we had the opportunity to hear Scott share The Gospel.! We were both very impressed with his knowledge and kindness.  We are sorry for your loss with the passing of his Earthly Life.  We are praying for strength, comfort, and peace for each of you now and in the days ahead.

Scott Cagle was a true man of God...what a blessing to have known him!
I met Scott in 2010/2011.  It was in a ministry setting outside of the church.  I knew immediately that he knew me by Spirit by the things he spoke to me and prayed over me.  My first thoughts, "Yay - another brother!"  Shortly thereafter, I began to attend NorthStar, and it was a great place of healing and community.  Ministry can = warfare and it was a blessing to be in a safe place, led by such a kind Shepherd.

My family joined Calvary Baptist in 1994 because of Bro. Scott.  We became very close to him and Melissa and family.  I could listen to him preach forever and his beautiful singing voice.    My heart is broken for Melissa and family.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

What a blessing it is to have known Scott and shared part of life's journey with him salmon fishing in Alaska.  We affectionately called him "Preacher Scott" in the RV we shared together.  The presence of the Lord radiated from him at all times, not just within our fishing brotherhood, but also with those we met there that we did not know before. It was an inspiration to see him make friends out of complete strangers, and to see him pass on the love of our Lord to them.  We will miss him greatly until we meet again on the other side of the great river.

A move from out of state can be hard, but when we came to Northstar 5 years ago, Pastor Scott was how the Lord let us know this church body was where we should land.  You know someone is authentic in their faith in several ways, but for me, when Scott just broke into a hymn right in the middle of his sermon and pretty soon we were all singing along helped me to find solidarity in how the Lord was speaking to me that day.  Our family will always miss you Pastor Scott!

My first thoughts went back to the first Sunday that I sat under Scott’s teaching. He had a visual to help understand. I loved that because I am mostly a visual learner. 
Next my mind took me back to the same location, Calvary Baptist Church Lenoir City. I could hear Scott singing the song “The Anchor Holds.” I had to hear it that day over and over as I could remember seeing and hearing him singing 
Next was a Bible School at the same church. He sang a song, “I owe a debt that I can’t pay, He paid a debt He did not owe…..”
As my mind whirled around the moments I remembered him visiting us and sitting round a campfire with us. 
Another in the salon when he’d come for a haircut he would sit in the break room with my brother, David and me just talking about life. 
Not to mention so many memories of the church and happenings there. 
There are so many memories packed into our lives. Those memories ran through my heart and mind like a swift stream rushing to the next memory to try to grasp the next moment of gentle waters yet moving swiftly to the next rapid memory. 
Pastor Scott Cagle was extremely instrumental in my life and in my late husband, Gary’s life. 
He will always be remembered and he will always be loved with the honor that God has placed upon this man, His child, His warrior. 
Pastor Scott brought hope, peace, joy, kindness, laughter, understanding, calm, but best of all, he brought love to all that knew him. I’ll see you again one day brother. You fought the fight, you’ve kept the faith, now enjoy the reward of just seeing the face of God and feeling the arms of Jesus.

Two seasons in life, life was rough and I got out of the habit of tithing.
Both times I heard Scott preach this sermon, I decided to tithe my first fruits. God has given me amazing stories to show how much He gives us back when faith in His provision is all we have. 

My second most memorable story about Scott is the first time I attended in 2008.  His words resonated very much with a long ago beloved preacher at Sevier  Heights.  This alone,  had me convinced to return.  My very shy and clingy toddler very easily went into the arms of the children's director, and I never needed to attend to him during the service.

The Bubble Church, that I first saw on the news, explained the reason behind their unique "building", easily shared their beliefs in God unashamed. 
I'm so happy I stumbled upon the news that day.

Praying for the entire family.  Scott was our pastor at Chestua Baptist Church in Madisonville TN, many years ago.  He had such a Beautiful singing voice.  Always brought a smile to our faces and sometimes tears to our eyes.

It was my dear Pastor Scott who, just two years ago, walked me to my husband’s gravesite, who comforted me and my children, who said let yourself feel all the feelings of this loss. I am truly feeling all the feelings of losing you and my heart is broken into a million pieces, but at the same time it’s still your tender voice I still hear saying keep pushing forward, keep showing up, keep giving your best, love with all your heart, be crazy generous to those around you, give it all away, do the hard thing! 

 It’s still your influence that is now comforting me and my family and will forever make us better servants of God. You served well and we are proud of you and the sacrifices you and your family made over the years to love us well and teach my children how to live life! You will always have the utmost respect and love in our hearts 💕 Prayers every day for Melissa and family.

I was  so sorry to hear the news concerning Scott’s passing.  He was a very dear friend and had been for many years; really since his early years at Mount Olive. I was Scott’s S S Teacher early on and during his teens was when a serious friendship began and during his years continuing at Carson Newman.  Scott was so easy to get to know.  We had even planned for him to assist in my funeral when the time came.  I am 92 presently.  Martin, Scott’s father and I were only a few months apart.  Scott will surely be missed by me and everyone who knew him.

Scot and I started off together at Doyle high school in the late 70s as his teacher and he as my student. Many wonderful experiences in the classroom and in the greenhouse activities showed his beliefs and true affirmation of purpose for his lifetime. Condolences to the Cagle family, and those students and community members throughout his lifetime.

Scott was a young teenager running the streets of Walmar and Gateway Lane in South Knoxville when I first got to know him. Being a young mom with a son five years younger than Scott, we would gather with Scott and other neighborhood kids especially during snows and spend the day sledding and having snowball fights. I had so much fun with that group of kids. Years passed and I had the honor and was so proud to call Scott my pastor and enjoy being in a life group with he and his precious Melissa. What an amazing minister.  The love of Jesus poured out of him and his heart was so beautiful. He will be so missed. My heart breaks for Melissa and family and I will continue to pray for God’s comfort and peace for all of you and the whole Northstar family and the many many people he touched.

Brother Scott... where to start? Scott, his wife, and Caleb (and later baby Erin was born) came to the small town of Madisonville, TN to paster at Chestua Baptist Church years ago. Brother Scott helped me grow in Christ, he was there for me and my family when my papaw (Theodore Plemons) passed away, he would regularly come and fish in the pond we had on our property (here we had many lengthy heart to heart conversations while we fished) , he genuinely loved and cared hard and knew exactly what a young teenage girl needed to hear when I was sad, when I questioned life and my relationship with God, and when I needed reassurance that my papaw was in heaven! Melissa, Caleb, and Erin... no words can be said to adequately reflect compassion from me to you during this time! I hope it's comforting to know that  Brother Scott helped mold my relationship with God and my family.. and without that I wouldnt be who I am today!

I will surely miss Pastor Scott Cagle. No one could give a message quite as well as Pastor Scott! He had a true gift of grabbing your attention with his charismaric nature and voice and holding it until his last word! He made me excited to hear God's word and his voice was uplifting and  also comforting when I needed it.

Known my friend Scott for 30 years.  As a college student he takes me door to door visitation in downtown Lenoir City.  Second house guy answers with a beer can. We go inside. Sit on couch where 20 more beer cans are on table. Entire walls have playboy pages. He says I’m so sorry pastor. Cagle never breaks stride. God meets you where you are. Tells him he loves him.  Guy fights it and calls him and gets saved 2 months later. That is Scott Cagle. I love you brother. Melissa Erin Caleb I love you!

I was so sorry to hear about Scott’s passing.  I haven’t seen Scott since we graduated in 1981, but I kept up with his ministry.  Scott was one of those people who made a lasting impact on people.
