Sharon Kay Buckner, born December 3, 1947, age 76 passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024 after a brief illness. She was the bookkeeper of her husband’s business, Buckner’s Automotive from 1977-2019 until they decided to retire in February 2019. She loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed camping and attending all sporting events that involved her grandchildren, Adam and Emily, which consisted of Adam’s dirt track racing and baseball days to Emily’s softball and volleyball games. Preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Betty Wagner. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John H. Buckner; daughter, Cindy (John) Engel; grandson, Adam (Tiffany) Engel; granddaughter, Emily Engel (Jordan Davis); sisters, Carolyn Welch and Linda Morris. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Monday, July 1st at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Hwy. for a 10 am interment service officiated by Rodney Johnson.
