Sharon Beaird Mellon, age 74, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Sharon was a lifelong and faithful member of Linden Baptist Church of Knoxville, where she devoted her life to serving the Lord and sharing His love with others. She faithfully taught Sunday School and touched countless lives through her compassion, encouragement, and servant’s heart. Sharon was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith.
She retired from Y-12 after many years of dedicated service and was loved by all who knew her. Sharon loved big and always wore a warm smile on her face, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Clarence and Pearl Beaird; brothers, Ray Miller and BB Miller; sisters, Rosalee Beaird and Barbara Beaird.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children, Mike (Tammy) Mellon, Randy (Donna) Mellon, and Anita (Ed) Driggers; along with 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends, neighbors, and church family members who were blessed to know and love her. Sharon will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, but her family rejoices in the peace and promise that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Sharon at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, with a visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Governors John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for a committal service at 10:00am, Pastor Jerry Wright to officiate the services.
