Sharon McClain Stone, age 67, of Knoxville died at her home on September 15, 2024. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing eye for design and crafting. Her love for gardening showed in every colorful and methodically planned flower bed that sprawled throughout her yard. Working in the yard was her therapy and even won her a “best yard” award within her neighborhood multiple times.
She adored her family and never passed up a chance to play a board game and cards with the grandkids or miss a chance to drag her sweet husband outside to work in the yard. She was full of life and had a smile that would light up a room.
She was a 30 year employee of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. She was valued and respected by all who worked with her. At the University, she met her loving husband, David.
She leaves behind her loving husband, David Stone, parents Jim and Dolores McClain, daughters Lori Sakhleh (Manuel), Kristi Chappelle (Joe Towery) and adoring grandchildren Bronson, Moya, Aria and Easton Sakhleh and Lily Fulgham; sister, Susan Caldwell (Jeff); nieces, Jennifer Campbell (Adam), Jessica Childs (Brian) and families; fur babies, Reggie and Rusty.
Family and friends will meet at Meridian Cemetery, 6586 Sevierville Pike, 10 am, Friday, September 20, 2024 for graveside services. Rev. Dana Fachman officiating.
