One of my oldest and dearest friends I met when I first moved to Knoxville was Susan Hirsch. We learned to party, go on diets every Monday and eat pizza every Sunday night just before. I also learned there were these 2 incredible people responsible for giving Susan to the world. That was Shirley and Richard Hirsch. Along with them came all these brothers and sisters that I have the privilege to know and love. But Shirley with that winning smile, her grace and charm will always be a special memory. Whether she remembered you or not, you were always welcome. Shirley, you will be missed by so many. God bless this family and their loss.

Two of Shirley's sons are my best friends on this Earth . She was always kind to me. She raised 6 upstanding Hirschs. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. My deepest sympathy. She is with Richard now.

When I was at Shirley and Richard's house they always made me feel like part of the family. I have never met two more extraordinary people. The best times and memories of my youth were spent there with the Hirsch's. She will be missed. Godspeed Mrs. Hirsch. She will be missed by all that knew her.

We truly miss Shirley. The neighborhood hasn't been the same since she left! She always talked about the day she would be reunited with Dick and how wonderful it would be!! My son got to know her as well and became "cocktail" buddies every day at 5. Praying for all her family and thanking Shirley for so many sweet memories.
