
YOUNG, SIDNEY KENNETH - passed away peacefully December 4th. Born December 29, 1925, Knoxville, Tennessee. Boy Scout, graduate of Knoxville High School, served in the U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater, WWII. Graduate of University of Tennessee, Member Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, served in U.S. Army, 2nd lieutenant. Kenneth's passion was retail. First selling subscriptions to the Knoxville News Sentinel as a newspaper boy. Later owner of The Economy Shop, 1123 N. Central, Knoxville. Flourished in Morristown, Tennessee, when Kenneth and Jim Coffin opened Young-Coffin Shoes Morristown Plaza. "Just 36 steps from Penney's Side door." Member Morristown Rotary Club. Kenneth was of the Christian faith believing, "The Word is the Church not a Building". Christened and confirmed St. John's Episcopal Church, Knoxville, communicate All Saints Episcopal Church, Morristown, Messiah Lutheran Church, Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Louise; siblings, Bill, Dot, and Sarah; infant son, Sidney Kenneth, Jr.; first wife, Ann Louise; second wife, Virginia. Survived by sons, Bill, Kip (Cindy); daughters, Rebecca Nies (Mike), Amy Moore (Jerry); step daughter, Kim Crouch (Jeff); three grandchildren; one great grandchild; six step grandchildren, one step great grandchild.
