

by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Of Greek-Cypriot roots, Solon was born and raised in Zodia, Cyprus, then following his graduate studies, immigrated to the U.S. in 1967, settling with his family in Knoxville in 1973. In 2008, Solon retired as Professor Emeritus, having dedicated
his career as Professor of Physics at the University of TN. His significant contributions to Biophysics, and specifically towards a deeper understanding of the properties of DNA, have been greatly acknowledged. Though deeply committed to his career, his greatest passion and “work” in life was for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, evangelizing the Word of God to others with love. He will be deeply missed, however is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ and at peace. Solon is survived by his wife, Georgia; two children, Alexia and Christos; and grandson, Stavros. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 5:00-7:00 p.m. Location: Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
