Wros, Thelma Irene 92 of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018. She is survived by Edward B. Wros, her loving husband of over 75 years; son, Edward M. (Kathryn) Wros; daughters, Sharon (Austin) Schoenfeld, Marcia Sorbo, Kathleen (Joe) Huff, Linda (Steve) Dyer; grandchildren, Jeff (Steffani) Wros, Marni, Kelly (Roy) Schwartz, Doug (Maura) Jenkins, Scott Masch, Jamie (Chris) Westbrook, Andrew Dyer; great grandchildren, Sydnie Moss, Josyln, Ryan, and Carolyna Westbrook, Hudson and Landon Schwartz, Audra Jenkins. When her husband, Edward, was fighting for our country with the Marines in WWII, Thelma was doing her part by working in a munitions factory. While living in Hawaii, she volunteered at Kalaupapa Leper Colony on Molokai making muumuus and doing mending for the residents. She enjoyed quilting, painting, and playing golf, winning the 9 hole club championship in Kiowa, TX in 1999. For the past two years, she has been living in a retirement community with her husband enjoying many new friends and activities. Family will receive friends Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 10-11am at Berry Highland West on Sherrill Blvd. with funeral service at 11am, Pastor Paul Seay officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will take place at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Highway Thursday, May 24th at 2:00 pm meeting at the cemetery.
