

Theresa Ann Blackwell Broussard, 65, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on July 2, 2026. Born on September 26, 1960, in Covington, Louisiana, Theresa lived a life filled with love, dedication, and kindness.
Theresa devoted 30 years of her life working in federal services, demonstrating unwavering commitment and resilience throughout her career. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was deeply rooted in her family and community. Theresa's strength and compassion were hallmarks of her character; she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Theresa shared a remarkable 45-year marriage with her husband, Bruce David Broussard. Together they built a loving family that brought immense joy to her life. She is survived by her daughter Susan Amelia Carter and son-in-law Alex Carter, along with their children Daytin, Kaden, Ayson, Landon, Alexis, and Jackson; her son Christopher Paul Broussard and daughter-in-law Jessica Broussard and their children Ethan, Braydon, and McKenna; as well as her daughter-in-law Chelsea Broussard and grandson Boone. Theresa also leaves behind her beloved mother Linda Pierce, sister Stephanie Bragg, and brother James Pierce.
A special mention of her cousin Timothy Blackwell and his wife Roseanne Blackwell for making sure to take special trips from Louisiana every year just to see her.
She was predeceased by her father Fleet Blackwell and her cherished son Nicholas David Broussard. Despite these profound losses, Theresa's enduring love for her family remained steadfast.
Theresa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time with family and friends, crocheting intricate creations with care and teaching crocheting to those who wanted to learn, playing computer games that sparked her curiosity, watching football with enthusiasm, and doting on her puppies. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart; she adored them beyond measure and often told them lovingly: “I love you more than ice cream.”
A woman who cherished connection above all else, Theresa welcomed visitors with open arms and delighted in meaningful conversations.
Theresa’s legacy is one of love, strength, and generosity. May the memory of her kind spirit bring comfort to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service is to be held on July 18th at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Neumann Catholic Church in Knoxville, TN.
