Thomas Ray Borst

Thomas Ray Borst, age 78, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Tom was born in Michigan where he enlisted into the United States Army and proudly served our country for 20 years. He honorably served in Korea, Vietnam and Germany, where he met his beautiful wife of 58 years, Gabriele. Tom was a great Husband, Father and Opa.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Jim (Wanda) Borst and David Borst.

He is survived by his wife, Gabriele Borst; sons: Thomas (Donna) Borst, James (Angie) Borst, Gary (Marisa) Borst; grandchildren: Kevin, Chelsea (Jeffery Kiser), Mark, Jared, Kayla, Chloe; brother, Jack Borst; sister, Donna DePalma; sister-in-law, Diana (Gerd) Grod; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2024, between 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville, TN. Family and friends will meet Monday, July 8, 2024 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, for a 10:00 AM Committal Service.
