Thomas "Terry" Howell, age 96 passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. Terry retired from Robertshaw as a Quality Control Manager, and kept himself busy after retirement by helping friends and family with any mechanical problems. He fought in WWII in the Pacific Theater as a member of the US Navy, and was also in the Korean War. Terry enjoyed the monthly reunion breakfast at Shoneys with the Robertshaw employees, as well as the Veterans cookouts with his fellow Veterans. He was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church, as well as Lake Hills Presbyterian Church.
Preceded in death by his second wife, Lynda Kay Howell in 2017; first wife, Marianne Davenport in 2017; brother, Howard Lee Howell (Washington); sister, Beatrice Smith (North Carolina); and nephew, Terry Lee Zachary (TN).
Terry leaves behind his loving daughter, Amy Howell Houser (Mark); sister, Oleta Zachary (Cullowhee, NC); nephew, Tim Zachary (Cullowhee, NC); niece, Kenni Lynn Brooks (Cherokee, NC); nephew, Kyle Smith (SC); and nephew, John Howell (Washington).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at South High Assisted Living, as well as the staff at Caris Healthcare for their loving care of Terry. Terry truly enjoyed being a part of the community at South High Assisted Living where he made many friends along the way.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803, for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
