Thomas "Mike" Michael Johnson, age 72, entered into his heavenly reward on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Born in Virgie, KY, he was a Deacon and longtime member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Mike retired from Alcoa after 40 years as an Electrician. He was a good husband, father and friend, but most of all, he was a good man. Mike will be greatly missed by all of those who are left to cherish their memories of him.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jason; first wife, Mary Louise Johnson; father, Tom Johnson and his niece, Jessica Lee.
Mike is survived by his mother, June Johnson; wife, Darlene Johnson; son, Mike Johnson Jr. (Kathy); step-son, Kevin Teeters (Allison); grandchildren: Naomi and Caleb Johnson, Hailey and Kendall Teeters; sister, Mary Donna San Miguel (Joe) and nephew, Tyler Lee. Mike is also survived by his longtime friend and special brother, Steve Loposser.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the University of Tennessee Medical Center CVICU and MCC for their outstanding care and compassion.
Against the family's better judgment, Mike would like to remind you that he was always a lifelong fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, 2024 between the hours of 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00 PM officiated by Rev. Danny Buchanan. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Hwy, Alcoa, TN for an 11:00 AM Interment Service.
