

Tommy was a loyal employee of Dempster Machine Shop for over 30 years. He was a beloved husband, father, Poppy, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved NASCAR races, was a big UT fan, spent plenty of time outdoors and camping, and was always willing to be a helping hand. Just a few words to describe him from those closest to him are: sweet and fun, hardworking, determined, resilient, dedicated, and goofy. He was a loving family man, and always excited to spend time with his beloved family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. His loss is so difficult due to how greatly he is loved and how big his heart was.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Hattie Smith, and Harry and Stella Houghton, and Jason and Candy Byrd; father, Thomas Smith Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Max and Connie Stanton.
Survived by his wife of 37 years, Regina Smith; son, Aaron Williams; daughter, Chelsea Smith; grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Carleigh Smith, Cayden Jollay, Aaliyah and McKinzlee Stringfield; parents, Roger and Harriet Byrd; brother, David Smith; sisters, Kelly (Mark) Johnson and Kristi (Ben) Pendley; brother in law, Michael Stanton; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends and family members.
A Receiving of Friends will be held on Saturday, June 27th from 4-6 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
The graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, June 29th at 12:00 PM. The family will be meeting at the cemetery. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tommy Bellamy.
