Tonya Thompson Underwood

God called Tonya Underwood home on July 12th, 2026. She grew up in Knoxville, TN. She was a current resident of Corryton, TN. Tonya was an extremely loving Christian wife and mother. She was a career employee as an administrative assistant at TVA. Tonya enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter and the many different adventures that came with it.

She was a very loving, caring, and good hearted woman. The world was a better place with her in it. Tonya had the sweetest laugh, prettiest blue eyes, and most beautiful smile. Her kind and giving nature was felt by so many friends and loved ones. She was undoubtedly the most kind hearted person anyone could ever meet.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marjorie Lawson; and late husband, Harold "Hoss" Thompson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Robert "Mickey" Underwood; her devoted daughter and best friend, Kristie Thompson; step son, Mickey Underwood; and Tonya's sisters Teresa White and Tam "Bubba" Lawson.

There will be a private graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery.
