Troy Lynne Lawson Marshall

.Lynne Marshall, 80, of Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Lynne’s family lived in Wears Valley until they moved to Knoxville in 1950, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Marshall. After her daughters were of school age, Lynne began working in the Knox County School system as a substitute teacher. Eventually she became a full time assistant in a special education setting at Doyle Middle School. Later in life, Lynne and Jerry became house parents at the Williams-Henson Lutheran Home for Children. They served as house parents for ten years until Lynne was named the Director of the Williams-Henson Lutheran Home for Children where she worked until her retirement. Lynne was a long time member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded by parents, Clyde and Sydney Lawson; husband, Jerry Marshall; daughter, Lisa Marshall; son-in-law, Doug Sowards. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ronnie Jarrett; five grandchildren, Jordan (Morgan) Sowards, Kara Sowards, Christopher Jarrett, Stephen Jarrett, and Nicholas Jarrett; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Gillespie; several nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Brian Osterman. The family will receive friends Monday, December 26, 2016 from 4:30pm until 7:30pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Mattox Cemetery in Wears Valley for an 11:00am graveside service. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
