Vicki Towery Starks of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind a life rich in family, friends and memorable experiences.

Vicki was born on March 27, 1938 in Morehouse, Missouri to Anna (Wright) and Raymond Towery. She married the love of her life, W.T. Starks, on May 3, 1958. They moved to Knoxville in 1967 where they raised their three loving daughters. Vicki also resided in Naples, FL.

Vicki was a strong, devoted, supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She was exceedingly generous and thoughtful and always encouraged her daughters and grandchildren to shoot for the moon. She worked side by side with her husband, building their successful business, Paramount Sales Company and several other business ventures in Knoxville.

Vicki was a beautiful person inside and out. She loved to entertain and was a gracious hostess known for her true southern hospitality. She found joy in being a mother and homemaker and loved gardening, gourmet cooking and traveling around the world. Vicki was creative, always stylish, loved to read and was an expert bridge player. She also had a remarkable ability with all types of intellectual games. Her family is forever grateful for her life, energy, enthusiasm, fun, wisdom, laughter, sensitivity and kind heart.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and her adoring husband of 48 years, W.T. Starks. She is survived by her three daughters, Christy Starks (Arunas Bruzas) of Naples, Florida, Debbie Starks Garcia (Joe Garcia) of Knoxville and Leslie Starks Pearson (Bill Pearson) of Naples, Florida; five grandchildren, W.T. Pearson, Nicholas Pearson, Alec Pearson, Guinn Garcia Boyce (Derek) and Vicki Garcia; her brother, Rick L. Towery (Linda) and family of Sikeston, Missouri, many nieces and nephews and special best friends Ginger and Bob Watson.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support received over the last several months. It was strengthening and a true blessing. Vicki will be missed by many, but the family rests with the assurance that they will see her again.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that you consider a gift in Vicki’s honor to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of Vicki’s life and receiving of friends will be held at Berry Highland Memorial in Knoxville on Wednesday, November 7th from noon until 2:00 p.m, with service to follow. Burial and graveside service will be private.
