

Violet Delores Maples Bedford, age 85, of South Knoxville, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 23, 2017 following and extended illness. She was a prayer warrior always in prayer to the Lord for someone, a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. She was a home maker, Brownie Troop Leader and loving mother to her large family. Violet is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, James E. Bedford Sr.; daughters, Shelia Bedford Vess, Sherrie Bedford Lundy and grandson, Daniel James Lundy and daughter in law, Debbie Bedford. She is survived by children and their spouses, Mike Bedford, Ramona and David Gibbs, James E. Bedford Jr. (J.B.), Rick and Angelia Bedford, Ron Bedford, Jerry and Karen Bedford, Jack and Jeannie Bedford; grandchildren and their spouses, Denise O’Mary, Michael Bedford Jr., Mary Etheridge, Randy and Michelle Gibbs, Lisa and Brad Brummett, Angie and Dean Lane, Bridgette Bledsoe, Emilee Bedford, Rhonda and Heath Watson, Dee Dee and Jason Watson, Brooke and Clay Covington, Shane Bedford, Cory Bedford; great-grandchildren and their spouses, D.J. Gibbs, Dustin and Amanda Lane, Anthony and April Lane, Josh Lane, Holt Watson, Hasten Watson, Grant Watson, Tal Watson, Reece Watson, Grace Watson, Bryce Watson, Carter Covington, Graham Covington, Millie Bess Covington, James Bishop; great great-grandchildren, Gabriel Lane, Waylon Lane, Aaron Lane. Family will receive friends Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, with a service at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:15am, at Berry Funeral Home, to go in Procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service.
