Oh Virginia, I really miss you.. I think about the good times we had in the State Guard.. I can't believe you left me without saying goodbye, but I will understand .. you do not know how much  I miss you... You are now having a reunion  with your son and your parents !!! Rest In Peace my friend !! You will NEVER be forgotten, I promise you...

I had the pleasure of knowing Virginia for many years through the Red Cross. We volunteered together many times at her beloved Station 2 in Neyland stadium during the UT football games. Fans at the game would make a point to stop by Station 2 just to say hi to Virginia. She would be ready to help patients at the game many times coming off night shift as a nurse without much sleep. She was a quiet, caring and dedicated force that that could counted on without complaint. I will miss Virginia and feel blessed to have known her. Rest in peace my friend.

Virginia was an active member in our local Military Women Veterans group where she helped so many of her sister Veterans. Her selfless and quiet spirit has often inspired me and the memory of her wonderful smile will live forever in my heart. Although her passing brings me great sadness I am comforted by the fact that she is undoubtedly marching with a platoon of the Lord's finest angels this very minute.

Myself and everyone else here at the Lantern in Lenoir City were deeply saddened to learn about the passing of our fellow coworker, Virginia. She was a good nurse who loved working with the Alzheimer's residents here at our facility, We are going to miss her quick wit and sarcasm and were truly blessed to have known her  for the past year. Rest in peace my friend....

It is with sadness that I leave this message. Virginia was a wonderful woman who quietly helped everyone. I will miss her.

I am sad to hear about Virginia.  I have known and loved her and her sisters since childhood, even though I have not seen her in a long time.  My condolences to the family.

Virginia was a great friend and I have known her since 2009. I have worked with her in the Tennessee State Guard for years. She had such a wonderful heart. She was selfless and always willing to do anything. She worked behind the scenes and chose to care about others. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Bless you Ginny.    I know you are at peace now.  Your struggles are over.   You are reunited with Brian and all of those you loved.

She has earned her wings many times over.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Virginia with the First Aid Station Team for 10 yrs. When we took over the team 3 yrs ago, Virginia was eager to help with anything that we needed done regardless of what it was that was needing done. We would have talks about life, the team, our medical jobs, etc. Our son, Gabriel, called her Mamaw Ginia and when she would come in to the chapter they would both take off on an adventure together to wash towels or whatever it was they were going to get into. We are both blessed that she had the chance to be called mamaw even if it wasn't a blood grandchild. 

Virginia will be greatly missed as our Station 2 Supervisor, medical mentor, and many other qualities that she had.

I am so sorry to hear it. I have known her since 1979. I hadn't heard till today. i worked with her at UT Hospital, Red Cross and the State Guard.

I was greatly sadden to hear about the loss of a kind and gentle Lady. Virginia and I worked several DAT activities. I especially reminder the laughter and kind spirit as we stayed up all night during an ice storm in Roane county. Virginia was blessed with a warm and caring  spirit that she shared with me and all others around her. I will missed her at our Red Cross Meetings. May she find comfort and peace in our Lord's arms.

Dear Gigi,
We started out together over 40 years ago with the ARC First Aid Station in the Coliseum.  It was you, me, Piper, and Brian in a playpen.  We were young, energetic and consumed with the joy of volunteer work with Red Cross.  I wonder how many hours the three of us spent in Neyland's Command 2?  I finally retired, Betty died but you kept going.  I would never have met Larry if not for you, or gone out with him if not for Piper.  I never worried about my mom at Shannondale as you were her night nurse all those years.  When she died and I missed getting to her in the night by 5 minutes, it was you who was with her, sharing her last words meant for me.  You were so gentle and knew how to quietly handle a crisis with competence and the kindest heart anyone could have.  Somehow you endured the ultimate pain when you lost Brian.  We kept busy and mindlessly tired by completely remodeling that bathroom.  Ironic that the last time I would see you was on a trip to shop for fixtures for your next bath remodel - although this time we agreed we would need muscle other than our own.  Larry cancelled the order for the new toilet he was planning as a funny surprise on your porch.  Who knew he needed to hurry.

Your quiet, selfless manner made you almost invisible at times.  Those who knew you well or volunteered beside you a few times are appreciative of your impact on everything you took on.  Few of us will ever be able to accomplish what you have.  Rest in peace dear friend,  and enjoy your beautiful son once more.  You have more than earned it.  

I would have to say i enjoyed working with Virginia at the Red Cross.  She would light upthe room and above all keep us on our toes.  Heaven gains another angel

Will miss you greatly, you were my go to Nurse for too many projects.  Health Services has lost a great resource and a great friend.  I will miss our phone calls and long talks.  See later, my friend.

Virginia, you were a great mentor, I learned a lot from you on the FAST team. You will truly be missed. Rest In Peace. 

It is with a very sad heart to have heard that Virginia is no longer with us.
She will be greatly missed at Red Cross. She always displayed a wonderful example of loyalty, commitment and kindness to so many people. My prayers are with her family.

Was so saddened to hear the news about Virginia. I had the privilege of working with her many times while volunteering with the American Red Cross.

My heart hurts for the loss of this exceptional lady, volunteer and friend.  For the past 12 years, Virginia has been my encourager and example.  She would make time for me at least once a week to check in on how I was and to share what was going on in her world.  She was faithful and passionate about so many things and a true steward to her work and all of her many many volunteer "Jobs". She will be missed tremendously....and I am honored that she touch my life and will be forever in my heart.  

We are especially grateful for her years of service and sacrifice to the American Red Cross of East Tennessee.

A tireless volunteer in all facets of her life.  Virginia will be missed by many who loved and cared for her.  Thoughts and prayers to all who loved her.
