

Wanda “Sue” King, 78, passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Bluefield, WV, on April 5, 1947, she was the daughter of Everett and June Owensby. She enjoyed a successful career as an Office Manager at Roger’s and Morgan, where she dedicated many years of her life.
Sue will be remembered as a proud coal miner’s daughter, a dedicated mother, a fun-loving grandmother, and a dedicated Tennessee Volunteer fan. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, such as a sweet treat, taking long walks, and collecting seashells on the beach.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hong and husband Tom; son, Wesley King and wife Paula; grandchildren, Carley, Sami, and Owen.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents Everett and June Owensby, sister Evangeline and brothers Kenneth, Hayden, Everett Jr., and Vivian.
A visitation to honor Sue’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at 6:00 p.m., paying tribute to Sue's remarkable life.
