Wanda Sue Waggoner, a devoted and faithful woman, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 26, 1936, in Harlan, Kentucky, Wanda was raised in the mountains of East Kentucky and attended school in Evarts, Kentucky. She was a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, at the time of her passing.
Wanda was a compassionate and generous individual, known for her gentle nature and hard-working spirit. She was an honest and kind-hearted person who was patient and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her faith was central to her life as she was a born-again Christian.
She cherished her family deeply, having been blessed with two daughters, Brenda Swaggerty, married to Gary Lee Swaggerty, and Charlotte Sayers and fiance William Witt; as well as son David Gregg JR. Wanda was also a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, James Swaggerty and John Sayers, and a great-grandmother to Breanna Hudgins, River Sayers, and Bella Sayers. Her great-great-granddaughter, Camila Hudgins, brought her much joy. She is survived by her brother, Rev. Roger Dale Hobbs, and sister-in-law, Brenda Hobbs, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Huey and Leona Hobbs; son, David Buster Gregg, her granddaughter, Laura Sue Swaggerty, and her siblings, Olen Ray Hobbs, Ralph Hobbs, Troy Hobbs, Howard Payne Hobbs, and Juanita Ford.
In her personal life, Wanda found joy in gardening and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed watching game shows, which brought her moments of relaxation and entertainment.

Visitation will be held on November 13, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Service will follow at 7:00 pm. with Rev. Steve Hux officiating. A graveside service will be on November 14, 2025, at 3:00 pm. and Rev. Rhonda Hobbs officiating. Wanda will be laid to rest at Berry Highland South Cemetery, located at 9010 E. Simpson Road.
