Wesley Alexander Cooper

Wesley was born on June 9, 2004 to Cindi Roberts and Steven Cooper in Knoxville, TN, and became fast friends with his big sister Katherine, to whom he was devoted for his entire life. He attended school in Sewanee, TN, and at Karns Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. He was an avid video gamer, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and played football all 4 years at Karns High, and joined their tennis and track teams in his Senior year before graduating in 2022. After high school, Wesley and the love of his life, Ryleigh Cooper, welcomed their daughter in 2023, Layla Mae, who was his joy and delight.

Everyone who knew Wesley knew that he was silly and head-strong and a stalwart friend. He gave the best bear hugs and loved to make people laugh. Wesley’s family and friends will miss him more than words can ever express. Wesley is survived by his mom Cindi Roberts and dad Steven Cooper; his adoring sister Katherine Cooper; love of his life Ryleigh Cooper and their beloved daughter Layla Cooper; grandparents Jim and Barbara Roberts; grandparents Steve and Vickie Cooper; great-grandfather Howard Cooper; aunt Kiki (Kristi) and uncle Chris York; cousins: Brittany Roberts and Tom Struble; Loki York; Jon Paul, Trisha, Allison, and Remy Roberts; great-aunt Phylly-bug (Phyllis) Maughan; and a host of extended family and friends. Celebration of Life will be Saturday 11/09/2024 at the Funeral Home from 1 - 3 pm. The family asks that you please share any memories of Wesley for his daughter at the celebration or in the online guestbook. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Wesley’s honor for his daughter, Layla, has been set up at Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union (request to deposit into Ryleigh Vann's account in the memorial fund).
