On May 18, 2025 William Ronald Clark, Sr. of Knoxville Tennessee left his earthly body, was reunited with his beautiful bride and met his Lord and Savior. He lived a life of service, being a faithful Christian, devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. Ron was born on November 27, 1938, to Margaret June McCollum Clark and Horace Maynard Clark, Sr. He was the oldest of 4 children. He graduated from Young High School in 1957 and then attended the University of Tennessee while married and starting a family. He lacked one class of graduating with a degree in business. He spent much of his youth in the
great outdoors and enjoyed working as a teenager at Clark’s Mountain Resort in Green Cove at the Tellico River corridor that his parents owned. However, he would often pack a lunch and disappear into the mountains for a day of exploring, fishing and hunting!
He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Pamela, on December 21, 1958, after eloping to Ringgold, Ga. They began a 66-year honeymoon until she passed away in May 2024. After their wedding he worked at several places, including Kerns bakery, Rohm & Haas and Southeastern Bolt and Screw, Co. until taking a giant leap of faith and opening Knoxville Bolt and Screw, Inc in 1980. Often calling it “his golden handcuffs" he never retired and continued being active in the business until February. He considered all the employees to be coworkers and family, going above and beyond to love and care for them.
Ron attended Laurel Ave Church of Christ with his parents and 3 siblings while growing up. After their marriage, Ron and Pam and their 3 children worshiped at churches of Christ in the Knoxville area.
He spent his days sewing peace into the fabric of the lives of the people around him. He enjoyed time in the mountains as well as an annual beach trip. He found great joy in his children and great grandchildren but was his happiest when Pam was by his side.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister, Peggy Mitchell, and his beloved wife, Pamela Clark.
He leaves behind his brother, Maynard Clark and sister, Sue Taylor. Also, his daughter, Leslie Reeves, son William Ronald Clark, Jr. (wife, Missy), daughter Heather Lawrence (husband, John), and grandchildren Zeke, Trey (Jessica), Rachael (Matt), Susie (Landon) and Tyler (Kelsey) and 6 great grandchildren.
Sunday, May 25, 2025, the family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Laurel Church of Christ, 3457 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 immediately following will be a celebration of life beginning at 3:00PM.
