KNOXVILLE - William Glenn Gaskins Jr., 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 8, 2024 after an extended illness. For many years he owned and operated a home inspection business in Knoxville. Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran (1970-1974). Member of Grace Baptist Church.
A native of Memphis, TN, he attended Mississippi State University and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Glenn was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and First Families of Tennessee. He was a devoted father and was very active in the sports-related lives of his two sons. Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Theresa, and their two sons, Travis (Amber) and Clint (Lauren); grandchildren, William Grant Gaskins and Charlotte Faye Gaskins; a sister, Shelley Jackson of Knoxville, and a brother, Tom Gaskins (Deb) of North Carolina; a niece, Jennifer Distin (James) of Knoxville and nephew Jack Howe, also of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gaskins Sr. of Tupelo, MS, and Doris Maloney of Knoxville.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, at Weaver’s Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. The family will gather Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a burial service at 11am with the Rev. Thomas Sweet officiating.
