William Perry Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by his wife and four children . He was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Perry was the cherished husband of Margie Plemons Johnson, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together, they built a family rooted in commitment and enduring values.
He was the proud father of four children:
• William Scott Johnson and his wife Robin, and their children Shelby and Blake
• Gwendolyn Creswell and her husband Brent, and their children Maddie and Ellis
• Bridgette Jeffers and her husband Donnie, and their children Lukas and wife Rebekah and son Lincoln, Addison, Aden, Landyn, and Abram
• Stephanie Sublett and her husband Warren, and their children Lauren, Fletcher, and Sloane
Perry had enumerable friends and loved ones that meant the world to him, including his Shiloh Baptist Church family, his brothers and sisters, his many nieces and nephews, many precious neighbors and close friends, and his closest companion, Scruffy, who loved him like no other.
Perry worked hard every day to take care of his family, always putting their needs before his own. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and he made sure his children and grandchildren knew that—both through his words and the way he lived his life. His quiet example of faith, strength, and selflessness left an indelible mark on those who knew and loved him.
Perry was a devoted grandfather who found deep joy in the lives of his grandchildren. His guidance, stories, and steady presence will be remembered always.
To honor his life and legacy, his six grandsons—Lukas, Aden, Ellis, Blake, Fletcher, and Abram—will serve as pallbearers.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Berry Highland South:
• Receiving of Friends: 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
• Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m.
• Graveside Service to follow immediately
Perry will be remembered not only for the love he gave so freely, but for the life he lived with integrity, humility, and grace. His legacy of faith and family will continue through all who were blessed to know him.
He will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
