Willie Edgar Berry

May 10, 1924April 18, 2011

Berry, Willie E., 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 18, 2011. He was a faithful member of Blue Springs Church of God. He was also a proud World War II veteran, and a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. We will forever hold him in our hearts until we can hold him in our arms. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Sissie Berry; brothers, Ray Berry and Bobby Berry; and sisters: Gloria Lee Berry, Anita and Juanita Berry, Virgie McCall, and Dorothy Graham. Survivors include wife, Edith Berry; children: James Berry, Gloria Marine, Steve (Sue) Berry, Sherry Snodderly (Richard) Washuk, Susan (James) Pruitt, and Shelia Peña; grandchildren: Jason Berry , Justin Berry, Amanda Berry, Joshua Snodderly, Jared Snodderly, Jessica Berry, Daniel Berry, Michael Berry, Nathanael Pruitt, Matthew Peña, Kevin Bearley, and Tyler Marine; great-grandchildren: Brenden Berry, Ethan Berry, Faith Snodderly, Nathan Snodderly, and Keely Bearley; brother, James Berry; and sister, Anna Capps. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 21st at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 22nd at Blue Springs Church of God, with Rev. Don Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at Clear Springs Cemetery. I will always remember my uncle Willie playing catch with me when we lived on Wellington ave in chicago. no matter how long he worked that day, he always had time to spend with his kids, and his nieces and nephews.

Willie was the oldest of my brothers. I always looked up to him because of his life experiences. He went through some difficult times and some very good times. He seemed to always come out on top. I love him and will miss him. We always laughed when we were together. That's what I will remember most.
