Willis was a loving and fiercely loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. An avid outdoorsman, he spent much of his life enjoying time at the hunting lease alongside family and friends. He proudly shared his passion for hunting with his son and grandsons, creating memories and traditions that will be cherished for generations.
He found the most joy in life’s simple moments: spending time with family, standing in the doorway watching his wife, Vicki, sew, and simply sitting outside with his faithful dog, Lily. Willis was known for his gentle spirit, quiet presence, and thoughtful nature, often found standing in the corner of every gathering, simply observing the room around him.
He served seven years in the United States Army National Guard before working more than 20 years of his career at Highway Transport, where he worked as a skilled welder.
He was so loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Until we meet again… c-ya bye.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lucille Haun.
He is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Vicki Haun; children, Dusty Haun (Mashara) and Mariah Pesterfield (Derrick); grandchildren, Dalton Haun, Wyatt Haun, Bryson Pesterfield, and Finley Pesterfield; great-grandson, River.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on June 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pavilion at Calvary Knoxville, located at 3330 W. Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN.
