Alice E Cook

Alice Ellen Cook, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 11, at Bridgewater Centre Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Hartford City, Indiana. She was born in Blackford County, Indiana on December 19, 1924 to the late Guy McConkey and Ethel McConkey.

Alice graduated from Roll High School and was then married to Jack Cook on October 14, 1951. Jack preceded Alice in death on November 1, 1980.

Alice spent her career as a homemaker, following her husband Jack to various military duty stations, including two assignments in Japan. In her free time, Alice liked to cook for her and her husband. Alice was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Montpelier, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo, Indiana on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 2:00 pm. Visitation is planned from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home in Kokomo. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden cemetery in Kokomo.

Alice is survived by 5 nieces, Patricia (Maxie) Tarter, Shirley (Richard) Huges, Betty (Dave) Tunmire, Carolyn (Jack) Dales, and Judy (Frank) Vancamp. She is also survived by 1 nephew, Paul (Marilyn) Pugh. In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Ennis, Tom, and Charles, a sister, Genevieve, and a nephew, Tom (Kathy) Pugh.
