

Amelia Ann Burton, 75, Carmel, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at her home. She was born August 10, 1936, in Kokomo, to Charles H. and Lillian M. (McClabe) Tilley. On June 26, 1954, she married Robert Burton, and he survives. They split their time between Indiana and the Florida home she loved.
She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Todd (Linda) Burton, Carmel, and Bryan (Joni) Burton, Franklin, Tennessee; one daughter, Laura (Daniel) Hawkins, Carmel; three grandsons, Jordan Burton, Cooper Burton, both of Carmel, and Carter Burton, Franklin, Tennessee; five granddaughters, Kendall Burton, Peri Burton, Sydney Burton, all of Franklin, Tennessee, Hannah Hawkins, and Katie Hawkins, both of Carmel; one sister, Alberta (Raymond) Reed; and one brother, Morris (Betty) Tilley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Charles Burton; brothers, Harry F. Tilley, Charles Tilley, Jr., and Robert Tilley; and sisters, Madeline Wright, Sylvia Marquand, L. Louise Holler, Beulah Kauble, and Dorothy Tilley.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Father Steve Fales officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
