Anna Jean Hounchell Parkhurst

Anna Jean Parkhurst, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:50 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence. She was born on July 13, 1939 in Lynch, KY to the late Clayton and Mary (Collett) Hounchell. She married Russell O. Parkhurst in February 1961in Kokomo, and he survives.

After Anna graduated from Kokomo High School, she was employed with General Motors for 32 years before retirement. She was a member of the UAW#292. Anna enjoyed reading, shopping for her grandchildren, and vacationing with her sister, Rita.

Anna is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Russell; two sons, Russell O. Parkhurst II, David (Angela) Parkhurst; stepson, Russell Draper; five grandchildren, Nicholas Daniel (Carrie) Parkhurst, Christopher Ora Parkhurst, Kayla Ellen Parkhurst, Jordan Marie (Calvin) Fitch, and Emily LouAnna (Alec) Teller; one great-grandchild, Baylee Alexis Parkhurst; sister, Rita (Kenny) Townsend; and several nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bob and Bill Hounchell.

The funeral service for Anna will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo with Pastor Michael Alley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, January 23 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, also at the mortuary.
