Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Woods
Anthony “Tony” Woods, 52, Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was born January 12, 1961, in Indianapolis, to Roosevelt and Cordelia (Simmons) Woods, Sr. He graduated from Marshall High School and Mid America College of Funeral Service. He had been a funeral director 15 years spending the last five years as funeral director at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo. He was also a DJ and enjoyed volunteering at the Carver Community Center in Kokomo. Tony professed his faith in God at an early age. He is survived by his mother, Cordelia Woods; two sons, Anthony Wayne Woods II, Indianapolis, and Shaun Wayne Woods, Indianapolis; two daughters, Brittany Glover, Indianapolis, and Tiffany Woods, Indianapolis; one grandson, Antonio Wayne Woods; two brothers, Roosevelt Woods Jr., Indianapolis, and Frederick Woods, Alexandria, Virginia; three sisters, Brenda Joyce Woods, Indianapolis, Jacquelyne Woods, Indianapolis, and Cheryl Woods-Higgins and husband Dee; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Woods Sr.; one brother, Stanley Clinton Woods; and one grandson, Anthony Wayne Woods III. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Berean Bible Church, 5602 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis with Pastor Charles Simmons officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Park North. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Berean Bible Church in Indianpolis.
