

Arlean F. Sadler departed this life for her heavenly home on January 24, 2013 surrounded by her beloved daughter and son-in-law. She was born January 10, 1920 in Fauquier County, Virginia. She was a telephone operator for Chesapeake Potomac in Washington, D.C., Indiana Bell and AT&T, retiring in 1989 after 32 years of service.
Arlean loved her family and was a devoted mother to her son, Roger D. Sadler and his wife Sherry of Chesterfield, Missouri, and to her daughter, Mona L. Shoffner and her husband Jim of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald E. Knott of Washington, D.C.; her two sisters, Marie Shuey and Mae MacWelch, both of Alexandria, Virginia; and her brother, Richard Shipp of Alexandria, Virginia.
Arlean was a proud grandmother of three, Marli Jo Cook, Trevor Sadler and Makenna Sadler. She was also grandmother to her two “special grandsons” Gizmo and Charlie.
Arlean was a member of the Pioneers of America and Ambassadair Travel Club. Her hobbies included knitting, bowling, reading, watching television, walking and square dancing.
Arlean will be sincerely missed by her family and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice.
