Betty Jean Jessup

Betty Jean Jessup, 89, of Kokomo, IN, passed away on December 18, 2019. She was born to the late Nishie Christine Smith and James Vandeveer on October 26, 1930. She married Odie Louis Jessup on November 13, 1965.

Betty worked at RCA for 15 years and retired from Delco Electronics after 32 years. She loved cooking, crocheting, traveling, playing card and board games, reading, watching movies, and listening to music.

She is survived by her children, Reginald Hatcher, Sr., and Lydia Stewart (James); her sister, Charlene Conner; her grandchildren, Regina Hatcher, Nicole Griffin (Donald), Quincy Stewart (Kelly), Reginald Hatcher, Jr., and Rashid Hatcher; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Odie L. Jessup, and her sister, Myrna L. Killebrew.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday December 30, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Elder Daniel Killebrew and Pastor Angela Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00pm. A private Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
