Betty Lou Walls, 89, Kokomo, passed away peacefully Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born April 23, 1925, in Kokomo, to the late William Newton and Grace Mae (Trout) Jones. On November 22, 1944, she married Charles Raymond “Ray” Walls, Jr., who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Gerald Eugene and Meredith M. Jones, and sister, Lalia Jones.
Betty graduated from Kokomo High School in 1943. She attended South Side Christian Church. Betty spent most of her time raising three boys; she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and supported her sons and husband throughout their scouting careers. She worked at Delco (Delphi) Electronics after raising her family. Betty was an active supporter and event planner for the Elks Club. She was a member of the Eastern Woodland Carving Club and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by three sons, Gary (Joni) Walls, Leslie Walls, and Kevin Walls; sister-in-law, Carol (Raymond) Thompson; niece, Debbie (Jim) Daugherty; nephew, Jeff (Bonnie) Walls; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Brust officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
