

Billie Sue Carpenter, 75, of Kokomo, passed away at 7:45 PM Wednesday October 11, 2017 at her residence. Born July 28, 1942 in Union County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Fred A. Bailey and Susie E. (Vandergriff). On May 9, 1959 in Covington, Kentucky, she married Lester Crawford Carpenter. He preceded her in death August 4, 2007. She was employed with Delco Electronics for 6 years; then with Accurate Parts for 10 years. She had been a member of UAW Local #292, the Eagles Lodge; also attended First Church of the Nazarene. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons Rick Carpenter, Lester “Greg” (Kandi) Carpenter, and Troy Douglas (Tammy) Carpenter, all of Kokomo; one daughter Sonja (Edward) Stollings of Kokomo; two brothers Paul (Evelyn) Bailey and David (Janet) Bailey, both of Kokomo; three sisters Phyllis (Dan) Brubaker, Shirley (Jeff) Johnston, and Rene’ (Mark) Davis, all of Kokomo. There are also ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister Sandra K. Gibbs, and two infant sisters.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Kokomo Memorial Park, 1300 E. North Street, Kokomo. Pastor David Leeder will officiate. Entombment will follow. There will be no public visitation.
