
Birch R. Finch Jr., formerly of Kokomo, passed away November 16, 2014. He was born October 22, 1921 to parents Birch R. Finch Sr. and Ina Bone Finch.
Birch served in the Army during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received in Italy. He was self-employed and retired in 1983, as well as a longtime member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Rozella; two daughters, Constance Elaine Corbin Little, and LuAnn Irwin Garmany (Richard); five grandchildren, Audra Nightengale, Christopher Irwin, Nathan Irwin, Sean Little, and Jonathan Garmany; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joan Hardesty of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
The family would like to thank caregiver Becky McCormick and Gentiva Hospice.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
