

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Brenda Faye Thompson, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Brenda passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, August 13th, 2026 in Sheridan, IN.
Brenda was born on May 4, 1948 to Mildred (Dodd) Lazaro and Dominic Lazaro in Delmar, AL., she was the 3rd child of 9 children.
She married Larry E. Thompson on February 27, 1988. He preceded her in death on December 19th, 2000.
Brenda is survived by her son, Michael (Misty) Ca’they, grandchildren Caiden (Brittnee) Ca’they, Courtney (Brandon) Bain; three brothers Dale Dodd, Dan (Jackie) Dodd, and Jack (Brenda) Dodd; and two sisters, Melba (Fred) Hochstedler, and Phylis Boyles. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Zoetta Clifton and Helen Weirauch, and her brother Christopher Lazaro.
Brenda had a deep passion for antiquities. That love encouraged her to hand-pick and import furniture and glassware from the United Kingdom where she was visiting her son. In 1993, she co-founded Cathey’s Corner Fine Antiques and Glassware with her husband Larry. The shop became a favorite destination for antique dealers and collectors alike.
Her smile, warmth, and strength will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Visitation will be held at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, on August 20, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 pm. The family invites guests to join them for a dinner following the service at Stars Of Light Chapel, 809 S. Elizabeth St., Kokomo, IN.
