Carl Willard Draine

Carl Willard Draine, 96 years old, died 18 April 2018 in Kokomo, Indiana. He was born 10 June 1921 in Greeneville, Tennessee to William Reason Draine and Eva Gertrude (Holder) Draine.

Survived by children Carol (George) Herr, Richard (Ann) Draine, Diana Riddle, Sherri King and William “Randy” Draine; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by two wives, Mary Helen (Burton) Draine and Virginia (Stagnoli) Draine. Also grandson Garry Herr and great granddaughter Stephanie Riddle, a brother Herman Draine and sister Anna Draine Weinhorst, three half-brothers, Jacob Roscoe, James Asberry, and John Franklin Crabtree.

Carl worked for Delco Radio and retired from Chrysler Corporation as a member of UAW Local 1166.

Our beloved father, a true hero, served as a proud, patriotic soldier in World War II as a combat medic, achieving the rank of Tech Sergeant.

Great thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice, especially Kathy, Julie and Tracy.

I'm sorry too hear the lose of your father. What a life he experience at 96. Almost 100 year's. His story of life was amazing. He's commended from my heart, I give him a salute. He traveled far. Dad, was the one who helped me find you. We spoke for quiet a while. I even got too talk too Randy. The times I remember Dad making sukatase. That's what he called it. Hamburger and pork n beans. It was so good.... He was a good chief. He did all the cooking. We wood put peanuts in a (glass bottle) of coke.... Dad, was alway's there for family support. I can remember some hard times. He was alway's doing mechanical work on the car's. We spent a lot of time growing up together, you and me and Dad. I want to send you a package, I need your address. It would be nice to talk to you. I worked with Carl for many years at the Casting Plant. We were in Inspection together and worked many years on the Case Line.

Condolences to the entire family. Miss those days of seeing everyone. Carl was a really good hard working man, keep all those good memories of Carl with you. I can recall in those early days how my parents always enjoyed going over to visit Carl and the entire family.
