Carmalita Lynn Thomas of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Carmalita lived in Kokomo for over 20 years and was a beloved member in the community. Carmalita was a hard worker. She recently retired from her work as Master Painter at Dean Baldwin Painting. Carmalita had a passion for helping people and was pursuing her degree in Social Services, so that she could become a counselor to those who struggle with addictions.
Carmalita enjoyed reading and journaling about her life experiences. She loved to travel especially to the beach and was always interested in doing numerous outdoor activities. Carmalita was a lover of animals and rescued quite a few during her lifetime. She loved to give of her time and enjoyed volunteering with community athletic events, especially those for her children. If she loved you then you would hear her yelling your praises in the stands.
Carmalita had a generous spirit and was always willing to give of herself to whoever was in need, it did not matter if you were a loved one or a stranger, she treated everyone with love. Many people who met Carmalita would call her “Momma”, “Auntie”, and “Sis”, because they were drawn to her warm personality and kind heart. She was someone that you could trust and depend on, especially during difficult times.
Carmalita loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and always made a special effort to show her love to them. Carmalita will be deeply missed and will be forever remembered as a wonderful Wife, Mother, Mimi, Auntie, Sister, and Friend. We are all very thankful to have Carmalita in our lives and have a piece of her in our memories and hearts. We look forward to seeing her again with a peaceful heart, a beautiful smile on her face, and hearing her laughter again.
