

Carolyn “Lyn” Ruth Benner, 78, of Kokomo, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1947, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Charles B. and Ruth Hartmann.
Lyn was married to the love of her life, Terry L. Benner, for 57 wonderful years. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and loyalty. She is survived by her children: Chris Benner of Kokomo; Scott (Amy) Benner of Russiaville; Jamie (Susan) Benner of Westfield; and Kerri (Andy) Redmon of Kokomo.
She is also survived by her brother, Paul Hartmann of Colts Neck, New Jersey.
Lyn was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and she absolutely cherished her growing family. She is survived by her grandchildren: Britney (Matthew) Raver, Corbin (Tory) Benner, Brooke (Peter) Davis, Chase Benner, Ashlyn Benner, Aidan Benner, Aubrey Benner, Conner Redmon, and Wyatt Redmon, as well as six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. Hartmann and Ruth Hartmann.
Lyn’s greatest happiness came from time spent with her family and friends. She loved vacationing in Gatlinburg and cherished the long retirement trip she and Terry took out West, reading books, building puzzles, watching Hallmark movies, and planting flowers. Lyn was an avid dog lover. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Throughout her life, Lyn worked as a manager at Captain’s Cove, Mike’s Pizza, and LePeep Restaurant, forming lasting friendships and earning the respect of many through her strong work ethic and welcoming smile.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Memory Gardens. Pastor Steve Allen will be officiating.
Lyn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on through those she cherished most.
