Catherine T Turner
April 12, 1921 – May 21, 2018
IN THE CARE OF
Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery
Catherine T. Turner, 97, went to be with the Lord on May 21st, 2018.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, to Mike and Mary Trosky, Catherine worked for Delco Radio, retiring from there in 1981, and was a member of UAW Local 292, and St. Patrick’s Church.
“Granny,” as she was lovingly known, left behind four children, David-Greentown, Sharon (Bill) Miller-Knox, Larry (Jackie) – Kokomo, and Wanda Sue Davis-Kokomo. Grandchildren, Michelle, Melinda, Melissa, Linda, Harmony, Derrick, Chad, Christina, Kerri, Rick, Marcie, Tracy, and Cherri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy, and daughter, Janet. She was blessed with 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
“Granny” was a unique person. Whoever met her was instantly informed that she was; and wanted to be called “Granny.” She was a loving and family-oriented person; and loved to cook. Holidays would find her cooking and enjoying every minute of it. Ham Salad and Cream Puffs had people standing in line to be the first to sample these goodies. Antiquing, going to the casino, and collecting Snow White memorabilia were her passions. Granny will be sorely missed, but Heaven has gained another angel.
Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Friday, May 25th at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home in Kokomo. A funeral service will be held at noon, May 25th, Pastor James Soblotne and David Turner, Elder Ron Morrow, and Vivianne Zaneski, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Street Christian Church, Greentown.
