It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Glen Davis, affectionately known as Chuck. Born on March 18, 1946 in Kokomo, Indiana, Chuck left us on August 10, 2025 in Wabash, Indiana, leaving a void that can never be filled. He was born March 18, 1946 in Kokomo, Indiana, a son of the late Earl and Rosella Davis.
Chuck spent 36 years at General Motors before retiring in 1999. Upon retirement he and his wife Sherry spent their winters in Naples, Florida. Not long after being invited to park their fifth-wheel home on a shaded hill on his nephew Johnny’s 80 acres of farm land in Wabash, Indiana, it became their summer getaway. Little did Bobbi and Johnny know that invite 20+ years ago would result in it becoming a permanent summer homestead. Chuck loved nothing more than the peacefulness on that hill in the middle of the country and the frequent visits from Bobbi and Johnny.
Through his journey of 79 years, he never met a stranger and touched many lives with his wisdom, humor, strength and resilience. Chuck had a quick wit, a generous heart, and a knack for making everyone laugh. He was always the life of every party, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Chuck found joy in many pastimes. He had a passion for firearms even making his own ammunition, he loved to golf, he loved country music, especially Hank Williams Sr., he enjoyed his whiskey and bourbon, traveling, riding his Harley Davidson, and in his later years, watching cowboy shows. Most of all, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne Lee-Davis; brother Ron Davis; brother Don Davis and his wife Pat; and daughter-in-law Tanya Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Davis of Wabash, Indiana; a sister Nancy Danford of Kokomo, Indiana; sister-in-law Marcine Davis of Kokomo, Indiana; son Justin Bolton-Davis and wife Mary of Shalimar, Florida; son Thomas Davis and wife Maria of Kokomo, Indiana; daughter Amy Maggard and wife Jennifer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; step-daughter Lesley Smith and husband Rick of Naples, Florida; step-son Ryan Turnpaugh and wife Courtney of Kokomo, Indiana; five grandchildren Robert, Erica, Shelby, Abigail, Catherine, and Coral, 13 great grandchildren along with other family and friends.
